About Metal Treating Institute

The Metal Treating Institute (MTI) is a non-profit trade association that was established in 1933 to represent the heat treating industry. With members in 38 states and 8 countries, it is the largest network of heat treaters in the world with over $1.3 billion in annual sales. As well as heat treaters, MTI represents over 50 top suppliers who provide their technical expertise to members to maximize productivity, quality and safety.

MTI is governed by a 19 member Board of Trustees made up of heat treating executives who oversee the policies of the association as well as work of over 70 committee volunteers in the areas of:
